Canyoning in Kirzala - 1 day

Departure from Kutaisi (Tbilisi or Batumi) to Samegrelo region for canyoning in Kirzala. We will pick you up from your hotel in Kutaisi at 09/00. Arrival at the start site. After that we will change and get ready to start canyoning.

This canyon is 15 km away from village Mukhuri, in Lugela valley. Travel from Kutaisi to Mukhuri takes 1 hour 30 minutes. From Mukhuri to the starting point is 30 minutes. The walking distance is 600 meters to the starting point.

The canyoning in Kirzala is of medium difficulty with two cascades.

1. The first cascade is 15 meters long

2. The second cascade is 30 meters long

Also two 35-meter waterfalls, which takes 3 hours to cross.

The tour takes the whole day. We will be back to Kutaisi about 20:00-21:00.

About Samegrelo region

Samerelo is a historical Georgian province lying in the western part of the country. It´s name means “the land of Mingrelians” (second most populous Georgian ethnic group). In the ancient times, Samegrelo constituted a large part of the Colchis kingdom, famous as the “the land of the Golden Fleece”.

Samegrelo is mostly known for its historical sites, caves, mineral springs or coastal marshes. As the most of the province is covered by flatlands, it´s not considered to be a premium trekking destination. Which is quite surprising since Egrisi mountains lying in its northern parts treature some of the most scenic lakes in Georgia. Egrisi mountains are not as high as massifs further to the north, but are more diverse – one can find here many rocky peaks, glacial lakes, gorges and waterfalls.
